Game Plan

With regarding to that summer plan thing, I'm actually leaning more on taking a break right now. I've realized that school's been my priorty for the longest time now and basically I just need to take a break from reading and tests and all the other stuff.

I gave some good thoughts on what I should do and I realized that this summer might be my last chance to go out and actually do things because hopefully by next summer, I'll be looking for a nursing assistant job as long as I get my general ed done after next spring semester. Basically at my school, the nursing program there only accepts twelve students from what I heard from other people and there's usually a long list of applicants that apply. I heard the wait will be long and so when I get my general ed out of the way, I can apply for that nursing program. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to wait and so I'll look at some opportunites to hopefully work as a nursing assistant by next summer.

I also realized that some people are moving to different parts of the state or somewhere around the country by next year and the summer's the perfect time to go out and chill before fall semester starts and I start to fluke on people again. I'm planning to use this summer as a way to catch up with people I haven't seen in awhile and just have an actual life outside of school and home. I've been lacking at going out the house and hanging out with people and so I'mma need to catch up and step my game up.

There's a few things I got planned for the summer. Two that I missed last summer was catching a Padre game and going to the Del Mar Fair. I've been to Petco Park twice and that was when it first opened in 2004. It's already 2007 and in betwen that time, I've been to Petco Park zero times ever since. Petco Park is a great looking part not only for its structure, but the view of downtown and the ocean. The surroundings around Petco Park make San Diego a beautiful place to live and be in outside the ghetto parts. Plus, the Padres are my team for baseball so I gotta represent and I still gotta teach the homie Jayson, the rules of baseball lol. Del Mar Fair is a place where my family and I use to go to alot back in the late 90's and basically that's the last time I've been there. It's a great place to go around and take part in rides and festivities and the food there is real good.

There's a few girls from high school that I need to catch up after fluking on them how many times. Whatever they wanna do I'll be down and yea basically just some one on one time to catch up with each other's lives. Kels, you are included in that mix so don't trip lol.

Probably the biggest thing I wanna get accomplished, which hopefully will happen is going up to LA and going around places. Medieval Times, The Block, Hollywood Blvd., maybe Disneyland, and a few other places have been grabbing my attention for a long minute. If I do make it to at least some of those places during the summer, than I will be fully satisfied with myself for reaching those goals and having a great summer.

Than again, I still got school in the way with alot of school work left and finals coming pretty soon. Maybe some people might not want to hang out with me or even me missing out on the hang out days my friends propose for me. Hopefully everything will be right as I planned and that the summer will be something I will never forget.

Hopefully...

Salute Jackie Robinson

I was meaning to do this post yesterday because it would have matched the importance of this post, but instead I'll just discuss about it right now. You don't really necessarilly have to know baseball fact for fact to know this person because he has become a well-recognized icon for 60 years now. Jackie Robinson is a hall of fame baseball player that is not only known for his stats and awards on the baseball field, but he helped revolutionized in some way the country we live in nowdays. Jackie Robinson is such an iconic figure, that the amount of credit he deserves cannot add up to what he had done in the country.

On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first ever African American baseball player to ever play the game. He was the first person to ever break the color barrier in the game in baseball that sparked many minorities that are playing the game today. He helped revolutionized the country by showing that their were opportunities for many minorties to earn a living and that accomplishing goals were possible.

He took extra steps in his display of equal opportunity by risking his life against the racism and negativity that he had to endure during his time of play. During his career, he was criticized for the color of his skin, he received death threats because many people doubted him, and he would be spit on because people thought he was a disgrace to the sport of baseball. Even most of his own teammates were against him playing alongside them. The things that he had to endure during his time that era and the way he handled things shows that he was a strong person. He took part in the NAACP, to help fight the racism that was going around with colored people.

Jackie Robinson was not just a hall of fame player with a great career, but he was also a person that has helped change the country's outlook on minorities. He showed that being the first African American to play baseball was a sign to many minorities that their hopes can be received if chances are taken. He believed that segregation was unfair and that minorities should be given a chance to prove and show themselves worthy of accomplishing their goals. Without Jackie Robinson, who knows what would still be going on today. The players that play sports wouldn't be diverse. Their would not be any diversity anywhere. He helped recognize that along with Martin Luther King Jr. Many followers followed Robinson's footsteps in other sports where the first African American manager in baseball would be hired, the first African American NFL would play, the first all-African American team would take place, and many others historic break throughs.

I wanted to honor Jackie Robinson because he is a big part of this country's history. Not just from a sport's view but also in the country's view. Many people have heard this name but don't know anything about him. He has made a huge impact in today's society. Without him, their wouldn't be any minorites playing basketball, baseball, football, and other sports. There also wouldn't be chances for minorties to get opportunities at what they would want to work as or accomplish in. Jackie Robinson was not just a great player on the diamond, but also a historic figure that helped show minorities that they could be given a chance to succeed and accomplish.

Both drawings are hella sick and creative. Props to the artists of both, my brother Moy for the first one, and Matt to the second drawing. What if we did have our own cartoon show??? That would be some crazy stuff right there lol.

Video Peek 1

Well, I'm back with my video peek series. Previews on new music videos, throwback videos or whatever else kind of videos that will catch your attention. As of late, I've been posting some music videos on my myspace. Make sure you check those out too because I'll be posting up new videos before anybody else. Well, I'll try to post them up before anybody else lol.

Let me start if off with two of the latest music videos out there right now. First up is T-Pain featuring Yung Joc- Buy U A Drank. I ain't gonna lie but this song has been stuck in my head for days. It's that kind of song where if you hear it once or maybe twice, you'll get addicted to it. Basically it's a snap r and b song and yea I actually thought snap music was dead for now but I guess it's still here in some form. The music video takes place in the club with people partying, making it rain, and all that good stuff that goes down in the club lol. It's an average video but it sure damn is a good r and b club song.

Second video is Rich Boy- Boy Looka Here. In My Opinion, Rich Boy as in artist is kinda whack in a way. No doubt he has good club songs that people could go wild out with but I can barely understand what the hell he says in his songs. I ain't disrespecting his hustle but damn that southern accent kinda kills it for me because I can't understand his lyrics. But back to the video, it deals with a mardi gras theme with Las Vegas to Alabama. The only thing I really like about this song is the beat. That beat is infectious. Off topic but I tried to download the instrumental of the song onto my phone just cause the beat is real nice but damn T-Mobile don't let you preview ringtones before you buy them and so they ripped me off. The ringtone I downloaded with the same title as the song above was completely different. Ish pissed me off lol. But yea, the video is aight, the beat is nice but the lyrics are bad. Lastly, dude kinda look like an alien lol no homo.

Summer Dilemma

Even if it's way before summer, I've been thinking alot lately on what I should do this summer. It's been bothering me and that I hope I can make the right choice and see that it would be worth it at the end.

Last summer, I decided to take a summer class to try to get one class out of the way for my general ed. If you guys remember, I took Chemistry 100 because I needed that class to sign up for the nursing program at my school. Well, it didn't turn out the way I was expecting it because in an 8 week course, 4 classes a week for 3 hours, it was like a jam pack session of notes and labs and tests. I winded up with a low F and I dropped on the last day people could drop a class. My thoughts after that was that I wasted that money when it coulda been saved or used for something else. Also, my whole summer that time was wasted because I was in school for almost two months and eventually dropped out with two weeks left on the schedule. In a way, I coulda got that class out of the way so I wouldn't have to take it no more but now I must take it during a full semester so I won't mess up again.

This summer, I've been thinking about taking a summer class again. The problem is, I don't wanna end up with the same problem as last year where I go to school just to drop out at the end. I only have four more classes I have left for my general ed which are mircobiology, chemistry, political science, and history. I was planning on probably taking two out of the four and take them this fall and take the other two the following spring. But seizing the opportunity to get a class done with in eight weeks is also good depending on the class.

I wanna have a fun summer and go out to the things I told people that I wanted to go to last summer which I failed at accomplishing but at the same time, I feel like getting done with at least one class out of the way. If I don't take any summer classes, I'm planning on finding a job hopefully and get back into shape by working out. I've been lacking at both. If I do take a class, it will either be political science, history, or both because I know I won't be able to handle a science in a span of eight weeks. I really wanna use the summer to catch up with alot of people I haven't seen in a long time but I also feel like getting my required classes done with so I could concentrate on the science I would have to take the following semesters. I'mma have to weight out the pros and cons and hopefully I could decided what I'll want to do for this summer.

Spring Breaker '07

Well, Spring Break is done and over with. It was chill and nice overall the past week. Can't believe it just flew by like that. Good thing is, seven more weeks of school is left with 26 days left also. But back to the subject, Spring Break this year was a bit more productive than last year's spring break.

Watching Wrestlemania on PPV with the homeboys, going around Otay, going to Long Beach and chilling with other family members, and one of the most important things is getting rest and not having to think about anything about school. Last year, I really wasn't up to much because it was during that time where I had took that break from everyone. I wish I coulda done more this break and spend more time with other people but the schedule, situations, and time I was having during break was kinda hard to hit people up and see what's up. I basically was down in San Diego for a few days because I had to take my mom to work and she left me with her car those days were I dropped her off. The only problem was is that whereever I go, I gotta take my younger brothers along especially my youngest bro. I can't go to that many places if I have him around so that's why I kinda get restricted with hanging out with alot of people and going out to actual places.

Overall, the whole break was chill. Me watching a wrestling PPV has been a long time coming and watching Wrestlemania was actually fun even though the actual event was not really all that. Being around the TS and hearing them crack jokes, showing emotions on who they want to win and who they want to lose, the push seen around the world lol, and just chilling and seeing the dudes again was all good no homo. Yes, I still watch wrestling here and there but it's not like I'm really a big fan of it as I once was as a kid. Wrestling just helps me pass by the time and yea again, it was nice watching Wrestlemania on PPV instead of having to wait to see the results online.

During the week, my brothers and I decided to hit up Hov and see what's good. Everyone else was basically at work or doing their own thing so Hov was the last resort to get at. He wanted me to come with him to Ross so he could get a discount from my Auntie who works there and so we planned on what to do before going to Ross. My bro decided to go to Plaza Bonita so he could pick up his girlfriend. I decided to just go to Plaza with my youngest bro and Hov and when we got there, we decided to just walk around awhile. I was looking at the stores to see what I wanted to buy and there were a couple of shoes and a pair of shades that I was kinda feenin' for. They looked very fresh but I decided just to save my money for something later on. We saw a couple familiar faces around the mall and it was good to see some people I haven't seen in awhile. After that, we decided to all go to Otay and see the "brand new" mall they have over there which I was told from Matt and Hov. When we got there, the place was far from what I expected. I thought it was an indoor mall or whatever and it ended up being like an outdoor outlet of stores. The location and the look of the place was hella nice but the stores weren't really all that for my liking. We decided to go eat out at Wendy's and just talk and reminicse and we ended staying there for awhile. We went up to Ross after that so Hov could buy his polo and tie. Called it a day after that.

Basically to make a long story short, the last part of the week was spent going back and forth my Temec, San Diego, and Long Beach. My three bros, mom, and I basically was road tripping on the 15 and 5 and damn it really took a toll on us. First day in Long Beach, was to go to a dentist appointment we were scheduled for and than after suffering in traffic, we went down to SD to visit my lolo and other family and spend the time there. We headed back up to Temec and rested there for the night. On Easter, we woke up at 6 to attend church at 7 and when we got there, it was full of people. No more seats left and everyone crowding in the back of the church. After a few hours, we headed up to Long Beach to chill with my other family members. We were stuck in traffic again and eventually got lost for awhile after my mom bought some Filipino desserts. When we got to my relatives', we ate, took pics, talked and bunch of other stuff. We left around 11 pm and while my mom and youngest bro took the 15 to go back to Temec, I rode with my uncles, aunt, lolo, and brother on the 5 to SD. We arrived around 2 am and we all went to sleep. I left SD around 11 am and went back home.

Here's some pics from spring break (and yea FINALLY posting pics lol):

Yes, I'm back with the blogging. It's been too long of a minute since I last made any kind of entry. Most of you know that I've switch blogging homes just to get more of a comfortable feel with blogging because the other site I was at, wasn't really me. On my blog, I'mma still post up video peeks of old or no videos and just talk about them. I'mma post up pics FINALLY to those that I kept saying that I would post up pics and I let down. Whatever's in my mind or going on in my life, I'mma try to put it down as in entry on here. I'm sorry for my old blogs where if you guys think they were repeat of topics or boring as hell, I'mma just do me and see what it do from there.

There's one thing that I will ask of you readers to do with my blog. Just don't give it to anyone PERIOD. Tryna keep my business out from everyone and yea you guys know how much of a private person I can be nowadays. Just keep this blog on the low, and we all good.

Overall, I'm happy to be back blogging and writing down life stories or random ish and hopefully I can last long with this blog. It's my new era, my new shine, my new freedom and no doubt I gotta live up to it. Ya better recognize whose back cause it's me snitches!
