After waiting seven long months, the NFL season has kicked off. There is no way in hell I'll be cheering for any other team besides the Chargers. After a frustrating loss last season in the playoffs, I'm expecting them to come full force and play their best. They may not equal their record of 14-2 from last season, but much of San Diego and basically the whole country expect the Chargers to make it to the playoffs and actually win a playoff game, nonetheless, take home their first championship ever.
This season's schedule is more tougher than before because of the other team's caliburs, but I'm hoping that the Chargers could make it all the way to the Super Bowl and win it. I don't expect LaDainian Tomlinson to win another MVP award but I do expect him to have a big season that will help impact the team in being successful. Hopefully, Philip Rivers can come out on his own and throw the ball more, to take pressure off LT. I already know Antonio Gates is going to put up his share of numbers. Shawne Merriman, hopefully will be a candidate for the DPOY and lead that Chargers defense.
Throughout this whole time, all the critics and the reviewers already have claimed that San Diego is the most talented teams in the NFL. I agree with that, but they gotta show me that they can win in the playoffs and at least get to the Super Bowl and win it. I don't care if they end up with an average record for the season or if they become a wild card, I want them to win a playoff game and reach the Super Bowl and win that championship San Diego has been missing this whole time. Out of all the major cities that have two or more professional sports franchises, I believe San Diego is the only city to not win a championship yet. Hopefully, the Chargers can go all the way this season (along with the Padres) and let San Diego finally get its shine. I think San Diego finally deserves to get a championship.
